Who controls what?

OK, now...... Just who is this little 2 year-old who comes to visit us for the day and takes control of our VW convertible and our LSV golf cart.....  Why, none other that Miss Abby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Logan and Carter are going to be sooooooooooooooo jealous that Abby drove both the VW and the golf cart before they did................... Well that's what grand-sibling interaction is all about....  Boys, you better get your butts down here before this little girl takes over.....  Now that Abby has taken a "spin" around the neighborhood, waiting for the "boys"....  I wonder if they will be any better then Aunt Kelly or Aunt Robyn were around golf carts (you guys might just want to ask them some time....)....  Well, retirement is sooooooo demanding, my tee-time is in 15 minutes, so I'd best putter along to the First Hole.....  See ya'll later, or as Abby has come to say....... "Bummer, dude".............

The Return of a Sailor....

Now returns the "sailor" from "el caribbe".....  Having successfully circumnavigated the US VI, BVI and Spanish VI and having successfully passes the ASA 106 examination, Papa Doc comes one step closer to Captain Papa Doc.....  Only one more class to go, ASA 108 and that is a scheduled 1500 mile passage from Norfolk, Va to St. Thomas, hopefully planned for this coming October... Well, I could spend hours and hours trying to describe the blue of the water, or the sun rises and sun sets, or the millions of brilliant stars seen at night when far out to sea and without any interference from shore lights...Orion, BIg Dog, Little Dog, Hare, Tauras, Gemeni never looked so spectacular without the interference of the shore lights....  Of course, it all "HAD" to end, and I "HAD" to return to the harried life of retirement...  Our only saving grace was to be our next planned adventure....  Well, until my next blog, "safe winds and good seas be your fortune"......

Out with the Old...

Well, yesterday marked the beginning...walls were banged out, commode taken out, tub cut up to be removed, and sink carried to another.  Today, the planning for "our" guest bedroom bath began!  Now, this does mean that the guest room will be the first one finished...so guests will be welcomed!  In what was once a teeny, tiny,"open" bathroom...now it will have a closed "environment" that Jan planned en total...tho I have to give credit to Kelly for getting us into the new century with our fixtures!  I always knew "girls" would come in handy!  Today framing...tomorrow...who knows! At least we are now "into demolition and rebuilding"...so the future truly does hold a house for us!  Wonder if it will really look good or am I dreamin'!  (Course, this is all being down without Jim's input as he is still checking out the BVI's through sailing...eating lobster, snorkeling, enjoying life..and that is good!)

Cruisin' Sandestin Style

Well, we are now "Ready to Roll" electric style!

No need for the gas pump...just plug it in and get your charge...this is the TRUE sign of "retired."

We are riding in style in our "LSV"...low speed vehicle.  I think we can really speed things up to about 25 mph..but talk about style.  Seating for six adults...and a weather cover that comes down and surrounds all if the temp gets too low for these "southerners!"

So, who is going to be the first rider?  Come on down!

ATTN Frozen "Northerers"......

ATTENTION all "Frozen Northerners"....

Just so that you folks think that you are alone in the "Golbal Warming" issue, we Floridian retirees have our "own" issues with Mother Nature.........  So, despite our sojourn into the Heart of Winter's Despair, we are expecting 65+ tomorrow, and an end to our winter suffering...........  Well, I guess we can now set our thoughts to an Early Spring...........  Love from the Heart of Retirement, Florida............

he ATTN all landlubbers.............

Attention all you landlubbers...................
You are now looking at the newest
CERTIFIED Padi Open Water Diver in the Southeast...........  Yep, passed all of the written tests.... passed the final 2 confined water dives....passes (with superior grades) both deep water dives #3 and #4.....  Dives to over 40' below sea level.......  Of course, the only reason I'm getting certified now is because of the trip to St. Thomas next week......  Just think 10 days of pure "sailing" around the US and British Virgin Islands...... Ya mon, no troubles.... Just wanna have some fun.....  Now I'm doing this ONLY because I want Jan to feel completely "SAFE" with me as captain when we go sailing.....  The things that some husbands have to "put up" with to please their wives, need I say any more gentlemen ????????   Well, I'm off to do a little "sailing" study...  Now is it "cerveza con limon" or is it "tres xxx's por favor"...  Well, gotta go.........
